What I Read in 2021
To say 2021 was a long year would be an understatement, and something I think we can all agree with. But because of this, I was able to get a lot of books read. I started out the year with a goal of just 20 books and finished with 126 on my read list. It was definitely a year! I know I don't have reviews for these books, but I will definitely make remarks on ones I think you should all go read ASAP!
- The Cousins by Karen M McManus ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- I've read everything by KMM and she is seriously one of the best YA Thriller/Mystery authors in a long time! I will always recommend her as someone who wants a fun thriller (I know; it's an oxymoron).
- The Wives by Tarryn Fisher ⭐⭐⭐π
No Exit by Taylor Adams ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐π
I had never read anything by Taylor Adams before, and by the end of the year, I had read everything. While I enjoyed his other books, none of them hit like this one. I travel frequently with work and now have a fear of stopping at a rest stop and having to fight for my life and the life of a child.
- The Secrets We Kept by Lara Prescott ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- I always say I don't like spy novels, and then I read one like this and it makes me want to read more spy novels.
- Girl A by Abigail Dean ⭐⭐⭐π
- The Girl in the Mirror by Rose Carlyle ⭐⭐⭐⭐π
- This book still fucks with me when I think about it. All I can think is that I am so glad I'm not a twin.
- The Last Flight by Julie Clark ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐π
- This book was so stressful in all the best ways! I keep thinking of the characters and the decisions they made that changed everything!
- The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides ⭐⭐⭐π
- The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman ⭐⭐⭐π
- The Book of Essie by Meghan MacLean Weir ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐π
- I didn't think I'd like this book. I had gotten it from BOTM a few years ago and it's just been sitting there. Now I wish I had read it sooner and I have suggested it to so many people!
- The Guest List by Lucy Foley ⭐⭐⭐
- The Other Woman by Sandie Jones ⭐⭐⭐⭐π
- This book is the nightmare of anyone who has ever been in a relationship long enough to meet the family. We all fear psycho in laws, but this one twists the narrative in a way that still leaves chills going up and down my spine.
- The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins ⭐⭐⭐⭐π
- People Like Her by Ellery Lloyd ⭐⭐⭐⭐π

Front Row at the Trump Show |
Front Row at the Trump Show by Jonathan Karl ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
While I try to remain neutral in my posts, I will say that this book is simply amazing, as is Betrayal also by Jonathan Karl. His book is extremely insightful. I highly recommend his audio books as he narrates them and he has a very soothing voice.
- Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeny ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- I really enjoyed this book. From the beginning I was trying to put it together and I couldn't quite get the plot right; Alice just kept throwing in new details and I'd have to make a new guess. But the time I got to the end, I was blown with the final reveal!

What were some of your favorite reads from 2021? What about your least favorite? As much as I hate to say it, some books just don't measure up to what we expect or what we've been told. Do you have any books your excited for in 2022? I know some of my fav authors have some books being released that I am impatiently waiting for.
