The Goddess Hunt by Aimee Carter
I don't know why, but The Goddess Hunt isn't included in the book with the other novellas of the series even though it is also a novella. But I read this one here because according to Goodreads, it's supposed to go between the first and second, although if I remember correctly, it doesn't impact the story. The other novellas are all included in The Goddess Legacy, which goes between the second and third, so I'll read those after finishing the next book, but since this is just one novella, this will a pretty short review. I mean, it's only 92 pages.
It's only been a matter of days since Kate married Henry and has left the land of the Underworld for her six month sabbatical. While she isn't thrilled with the time away, she is spending the time in Greece with James, who is more than excited for this time with her. However, the first thing they do is run into Castor and Pollux, the Greek twins that have been on the run from Zeus and Hades for ages, and they aren't happy that the new Queen of the Underworld was the one to find them. But Kate sides with them in the age old battle; she just has to find a way to convince Henry and Walter that their egos can take the hit.
I really am not a fan of this little novella. While I do agree with Kate's reasoning for thinking that Castor and Pollux should be able to be together, she also doesn't know all the ins and outs of the gods rulings over all the years and the rules that each realm has. You can't just go demanding changes to policies without doing your homework. She just kind of a bratty child in this novella, if you ask me.
What I do like is the alternating perspective of Kate and Henry. I can't remember if any of the other books do it this way, although I do know the other novellas aren't from Kate's POV. It is nice seeing the situation from a different character, especially one who knows why things are the way they are.
Like I said, I really don't think this one is really necessary for readers to read. To the best of my knowledge, it's only available digitally and through Audible. If you love the series, go ahead. But I don't think it's worth the time if you want to dig into the meat of the story.
