When I first started this review, I wasn't really sure what I was going to write, but then as I started thinking about it, I really did not like the book. This is why:

• It's your typical toned down erotica novel; it's a carbon copy of Fifty Shades, just with different names. I feel like it started out strong, but once Calloway starts falling for this girl who "won't understand his lifestyle," it went downhill fast.
• I am so sick of rich men using their means to track down this one girl. It's creepy. If some man did that to me, I'd be filing a restraining order, not crawling into bed with him.

• I am also sick of the man trying to control every aspect of the woman's life before they have signed a contract. Calloway, you are Rome's boyfriend, not her Dom; you can't buy her a house because her apartment was broken into. Again, restraining order, not bed. And even when there's a contract between a Dom and a sub, there are soft and hard limits, and if Rome says that buying her a house is a hard limit, you don't go behind her back and involve her brother in some shady deal. And her brother should know better than to do that.
• And when it's all said and done, when they finally have sex, it's supposed to be a huge shock that she's a virgin. I just don't understand how a person who has never had sex is supposed to be uh-mazing at everything else and when you finally do have sex, she rocks your world.

• And Calloway's brother, Jackson, is a dick. Maybe it's because I don't have any siblings that are close to my age and/or also female, but I can't imagine sharing my preferences in the bedroom with my sibling, especially something like BDSM, so that creeps me out. At least in Fifty Shades, Christian didn't share that part of his life with his siblings. But Jackson brings his current sub around Rome and almost spills everything, even though Calloway made it clear that he wasn't ready to tell her. Have some respect for your brother!

• And while I'm comparing Fifty Shades here, Christian at least had the decency to tell Ana straight up. Calloway and Rome have been dating for a month and he's still lying. Even when Calloway dons the black obsidian ring that says that he is not on the market for a new Dom-sub relationship and Rome asks him about it, he keeps his mouth shut.

This book started out really strong. I love how Calloway and Rome meet; that is what made me buy the book. He's waiting for his brother at a bar, and Rome is there with a friend who is upset because she found out her boyfriend is married, when the friend mentions that the cheater is at the bar. Rome mistakes Calloway for the cheater and proceeds to slap him a few times and yell at him, completely ignoring her friend who is trying to tell her she has the wrong guy. But then Calloway goes all stalkeratzie and everything goes downhill quickly.
